CIRCA art actuel is looking for a programming assistant to take office on Tuesday, February 5, 2019!
CIRCA is a self-managed artist run center located in downtown Montreal, in the Belgo Building. Its mandate is the dissemination of contemporary art and more specifically practices that question space.
➤ Salary: $ 13.00 / hour
➤ Schedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm
Thursday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturday from noon to 5:30 pm
Completed with other hours of work as needed.
➤ Duration of employment: 26 weeks

Description of tasks :
★ Welcome and inform visitors about current exhibitions and conduct guided tours
★ Ensures follow-ups with artists, authors and various partners, according to agreed deadlines
★ Produces promotional material for the Center’s activities, based on pre-established or future models
★ Promotes the Center’s exhibitions and activities to the media, members, the website, social networks and cultural bulletin boards
★ Contributes to the assembly and disassembly of exhibitions (hanging, lighting, etc.) and ensures the maintenance of the gallery
★ Evaluates the human, material and technical resource requirements for the exhibit settings and various activities of the Center
★ Ensures the archiving of content produced as part of the activities of the Center
★ Attends meetings of certain committees
★ Contributes to the coordination of the POPOP gallery rentals (follow-up with the tenants, follow-up with the selection committee, update of the calendar, promotion, maintenance)
❍ Good knowledge of current art
❍ Excellent knowledge of computer graphics on Mac: Updating the website, producing leaflets and press releases, documentation
❍ Good knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop, Illustrator an asset
❍ Knowledge of electronic communication platforms (Mailchimp, social networks) an asset
❍ Experience in exhibition assembly and disassembly and gallery maintenance ❍ Experience in mediation and public reception
❍ Ability for office work
❍ Good command of oral and written French and English
❍ The person sought will also have teamwork skills, interpersonal skills, initiative and a good learning ability
