Stephen Schofield returns to fairy tales, most notably Puss in Boots, to tell a new story of cunning, transformation and survival in the art world. Referring to key artworks in his own practice as well as to those of other sculptors and artists, he shapes a contemporary allegory of the artist’s life, career and soul.

In response to the exhibition at Atelier Graff called Espace imprimé, espace ouvert that was presented last summer for the gallery’s 50th anniversary, this talk will look at the implications and impact of interdisciplinary approaches to current printmaking practices. Discussing the works presented at Atelier Graff along with other historical and contemporary print works, Dupuis-Bourret will examine the formal principals and aesthetic issues involved when considering space in printmaking, particularly, the strategies and techniques that artists have developed.
