Information we collect and why

  • Newsletter subscription: your email address, to send you our newsletter (exhibitions, events, open calls). You receive an email to confirm your subscription, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every newsletter.
  • Email communications: when you write to us (for example about an open call, a job application or a question), we receive the information you choose to send us (name, email address, attached documents), and we use it only to handle your request.
  • Cookies: our website uses functional cookies that are necessary for it to work (for example to remember your language and your cookie choices). Third-party cookies are only set with your consent. See our Cookie Policy for the detailed list; you can change your choices at any time.

We only collect the information needed for these purposes. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for profiling or targeted advertising.

Third-party services

  • Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) sends our newsletter. Your email address is stored on its servers, located in particular in the United States.
  • Vimeo and YouTube: some pages show videos hosted on these platforms. They are only loaded after you consent to cookies, since these services may set their own cookies.
  • Zeffy and PayPal: our ticketing and donation links lead to these external platforms. The information you provide there is handled according to their own privacy policies.
  • Hosting: our website is hosted by an external provider whose servers may be located outside Quebec. Like any website, the server records technical connection data (such as IP addresses) for security purposes.

Some of these providers are located outside Quebec. Before entrusting them with information, we make sure it will receive adequate protection.

Retention and security

We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected: your email address stays on the newsletter list until you unsubscribe, and email exchanges are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and meet our obligations. Only the people who need it for their work have access to your information, and we take reasonable measures to protect it.

Your rights

At any time, you may:

  • ask to access the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask that it be corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
  • withdraw your consent (for example by unsubscribing from the newsletter or changing your cookie choices);
  • ask us to stop disseminating your information or to delete it, where the law allows.

To exercise these rights, write to circa@circa-art.com. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of this page.
