The Mission
CIRCA art actuel is an artist-run centre that supports experimentation and innovation. Its mission is to present the work of contemporary artists, from all generations, who place the sculptural object at the heart of their approach.
Montreal, April 25, 2023 – CIRCA art actuel is pleased to announce that this year the Pauline-Desautels Prize is awarded to Caroline Mauxion for her project « À charge de désir », presented in 2022 at Arprim, centre d’essai en art imprimé.
Since 2021, CIRCA art actuel will award $5,000 annually to a woman, a committed artist whose sculpture or installation work, in line with CIRCA’s mission, has stood out for the public and the art community as a whole over the past three years.
2019 Benefit-exhibition Opening on Saturday, September 21 from 3 pm to 5 pm Open to everyone _________________________________________________________________ The CIRCA team is pleased to announce the new edition of its annual benefit exhibition, which will take place from September 21 to October 19, 2019!
On Tuesday, September 17, CIRCA art actuel celebrates and invites you to its Cocktail 2019, exclusive launch party of its benefit exhibition.
There will be to drink and to eat, art wall to wall, a DJ at the controls of the turntables to better meet between artists, gallerists and enthusiastic collectors without forgetting of course, your essential presence.

On Saturday, May 11, 2019, join us at 2:30 pm for a talk with the artists led by Émilie Granjon followed at 3:00 pm by the opening of Michelle Bui’s Plein soleil and André Fournelle’s La lumière est un acte de vie !

As part of Nuit blanche and our current exhibitions, CIRCA art actuel invites you to the sound performance “Living Systems” by artist Preston Beebe.
On Saturday, March 16, 2019, join us at 3 pm for the opening of the expositions of Jeffrey Poirier’s X and Sherry Walchuk’s Outbuilding 1 !
The same day, enjoy an artist talk animated from 14:30 by Émilie Granjon to discuss and meet with the artists.
